MITCHELL: You are the first person from the McCain campaign I can ask, what did you think of Tina Fey as Sarah Palin?
FIORINA: Well, I think that she looked a bit like her. I think that, of course, the portrait was very dismissive of the substance of Sarah Palin, and so in that sense, they were defining Hillary Clinton as very substantive, and Sarah Palin as totally superficial. I think that continues the line of argument that is disrespectful in the extreme, and yes, I would say, sexist in the sense that just because Sarah Palin has different views than Hillary Clinton does not mean that she lacks substance. She has a lot of substance.
I guess SNL satire of Obama in April and of Hillary and of McCain and of practically every important political figure of this age can not be extended to include Sarah. She has to be treated DIFFERENTLY or it would be SEXIST. That pretty much sums up the sexist argument of the McCain camp - put a woman on the ticket no matter how knowledgeable or not and then deflect all criticism and hope women are so eager to see a female VP and that will end the election. I say women got close to a female president. Accepting a woman VP that is not questioned and is not knowledgeable in the light of that is the worst possible disservice and the true sexism. Just like swapping your old first wife for a younger richer one. Life is so good to women that use women to further their way.
I suppose this puts Obama in some company regarding his distorted comment regarding the repackaging of Bush policies as change as putting lipstick on a pig. The strategy is simple:
Choose a female VP, any, then yell sexism no matter what is said and hope the female and Clinton voters follow suit.
How can a woman be described as sexist for satirizing one woman as substantial and the other as not?

Easy. The people are not only liars but idiots. Next they are gonna complain SNL doesn't take issues seriously.
yes, I would say, sexist in the sense that just because Sarah Palin has different views than Hillary Clinton does not mean that she lacks substance.
Someone doesn't understand the meaning of sexist apparently. Does no one else find it sexist to put a woman on a pedestal to say "look! We want women to have positions of power, and do things!" and then refuse to let her receive the same treatment as men?
Agreed, Steve.

You and your common sense.
Tough little devil to shake sometimes, innit? :)
Someone should call Sarah Palin out for overtly playing the gender card.
Why is no one doing this?
She is saying in campaign speeches about "shattering the hardest glass ceiling of all."
She is OVERTLY playing the GENDER CARD.
What if Obama goes out and says that this is a wonderful time for black people? How would that play in the media? Yet, the media is letting her get away with this obnoxious statements.
Scoff. You can't ask Sarah Palin hard questions or hard questions about Sarah Palin. She's a woman. And John McCain was a POW. That makes you an anti-troop sexist now doesn't it?
Hold on. What's that? Okay, so I'm now getting word that it actually doesn't, and that everything I just said is actually a crock of bull@!$%#. Sorry, have a nice day.
